COVID-19 STATEMENT
With many of us with kids at home, time off from work, high stress overload, and general world-turned-upsidedown new realities, we want guests to know that the Mettawee properties remain available. In fact, for some of us now is a great time to take the opportunity for a quick family getaway. The houses are the perfect place to de-stress and unwind, whether it be lounging on the decks, enjoying the views, hiking nearby trails at the Big Branch Wilderness Area, or quiet time in the house. If you need to stay in touch with your office, the houses are equipped with high speed internet, FedEx is available for overnight packages, and there is excellent cell phone service. We have adopted a refund policy that will allow full refunds in the event that Governor Scott issues a revised order regarding the Covid-19 virus that would impact any reservation. Otherwise, our stated refund policy remains intact.

what are the costs associated with staying in one of the houses?
There is a three night minimum rental change, plus Vermont Room Tax of 9%.
Basic daily rental fee*: $950.00 - $1,250.00 per night
Cleaning fee: $250.00
Security Deposit: $750.00 - hold on a credit card
Pet fee: $100.00 / pet / stay
The security deposit is not a charge against your credit card, but just a hold, subject to the terms of the rental agreement. All other expenses (snow plowing, house maintenance, etc.) are included in the daily rental fee. There are no hidden charges.
If you are making the reservation more than 30 days before your arrival date, one half of the total rental fee and VT room tax is required with your reservation. If you are making your reservation within 30 days or less of your arrival date, the entire rental fee and tax is due at the time of your reservation.
*Note: during selected holidays and vacation periods, summer months and other times our daily rental fee is increased to $1,250.00/night
why do i have to pay a security deposit and when do I get it back?
A security deposit of $750.00 is required for all stays at the property in case of damages. This is usually done by a hold on a credit card and is fully-refundable per the rental agreement. The hold on your account will be lifted with 14 days of the end of your stay.
what are the Rental Term requirements?
The property is leased on a three night minimum basis. This means stays of less than three nights will incur a three night rental charge. During certain times of the year such as holidays and vacation periods, the properties may be rented for longer minimum stay terms.
what are Check in/Check out Times?
Check in time is 4:00 p.m. and check out time is 11:00 a.m.
how do i pay for my visit?
We accept VISA, Mastercard, and American Express, as well as personal checks.
Can I bring my dog?
We welcome dogs to the properties. Any doggy guest must be disclosed and is subject to the owner's approval. A $100.00 per dog per stay fee applies, and the owner must comply with the Pet section of the rental agreement.
Is there cable tv?
Please note that there is no cable or satellite television at the house, i.e. no regular television programming at either house. However, there is WiFi available throughout the properties. There are two television sets included at both houses with DVD players and surround sound systems. Both houses have small library collections for all ages, as well as a DVD and CD collection. Enjoy home theatre surround sound that can also accommodate your ipod. A variety of board games and jigsaw puzzles are also available at the houses. The Mettawee pool room has a separate sound system that accepts CDs.
